No Cost Cremation

Serving families with financial difficulties

At Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, we take great pride in serving all families including those with financial difficulties. We believe that everyone deserves a dignified and respectful funeral service, which is why we offer financial assistance to those who may be eligible.

County Assistance

The Department of Human Services will provide payment for burial and cremation for those individuals who are eligible:

Cremation

  • Professional services of funeral director and staff and completion of documents
  • Transportation of your loved one into our care
  • Alternative cremation container
  • Cremation in our on-site crematory
  • Standard black plastic urn
  • Help with writing and submitting obituaries


Burial

  • Professional services of funeral director and staff and completion of documents
  • Transportation of your loved one into our care
  • Help with writing and submitting obituaries
  • Transportation to cemetery

The family is responsible for

  • Death certificates
  • Coroner’s fee
  • Casket (if applicable)
  • Cemetery property (if applicable)

Body Donation

Whole Body Donation is  a “no cost” option available to those looking to contribute to advances in science and medical research.

All that is required for acceptance is a brief phone interview.

Once accepted into the program, Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care takes care of the rest.

Whole Body Donation includes:

  • Professional services of funeral director staff and completion of all required documents.
  • Transportation of your loved on into our care.
  • Coordination with donation program.
  • Cremation.
  • Help with writing and submitting obituaries.
  • One certified copy of death certificate.
  • Return of cremated remains to the family within four to six weeks.
