Dolores J. Suranofsky

Dolores June “Dee” Suranofsky was born in Fort Ashby, WV on May 4, 1931.  She passed away at the Lutheran Home in Kane, PA on June 3, 2026 at the age of 95.  She was the daughter of the late Oscar L and Sarah A. Troutman Bennett.

She graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1948.  She rode the street car to Pittsburgh to work as a punch card operator.  She later worked at Canonsburg Hospital as an x ray assistant.

Dolores married her loving husband John A Suranofsky on September 10, 1954 they celebrated 36 years of marriage.  John died on January 2, 1991.

She had one son Daniel (Lisa) Suranofsky and being a mother was her greatest joy.  She had two beloved grandchildren Nathan Suranofsky and Aaron Suranofsky.  Dolores is also survived by her brother Jack (Patricia) Bennett, her nephew Jeffrey (Margaret) Little, her nieces Lora Lee Lindgren, Jennifer Thompson, Charlotte Brandin, Nita Kidd and Jeanne Reifel.  She was preceded in death by brothers Denman(Betty) Bennett, and Robert (Martha) Bennett and sisters Maxine(Donald) Little and Evelyn Stamy.

Dolores and her family spent many years going to Brightwood Christian Church in Bethel Park, PA  where she played the piano and was very involved with the church.  She greatly enjoyed shopping with her sister Maxine “Mac”.  Loved decorating her house and greatly enjoyed her gardens.  When she was no longer working she volunteered at the local hospital and always was ready to lend a helping to hand to those in need.

At the family’s request all services will be held privately.  Burial is at Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray, PA.
