It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron B. Wetzel on August 19, 2024.

Aaron was born on August 16, 1981; he was the beloved son of Meg and Gary Wetzel.

Aaron was the devoted brother to Lee Wetzel, loved brother-in-law to Alexis Wetzel, proud uncle to Joelle and Cameron Wetzel, and loving Uncle and Godfather to Julia Wetzel.

Aaron was a standout athlete during his time at South Park High School, where he achieved many accomplishments in wrestling and cross country for the Eagles. He had a love for our Pittsburgh Steelers that was more than just a fan’s devotion. It was a part of his identity, with black and gold running through his veins. His passion for the team was unmatched, and he could always be found cheering them on with enthusiasm and pride.

Beyond his love for sports, Aaron was a man of many interests. He enjoyed fishing, playing the drums, movies, and exploring history. He was an avid coin collector, treasuring each piece for its story and significance.

Aaron’s journey was marked by his deep faith, and he is now at peace with the Lord. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546. A celebration of life will be held on August 29, 2024 at 10:00 am at The Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray, PA 15317.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Aaron’s memory to The Bible Chapel.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
