Albert Karl Schneider, age 92, formerly of Crafton, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 22, 2022, while surrounded by family.
Albert was born March 27, 1930, in Overbrook, PA, to Gustav & Emmy Schneider.
Loving Father of Karen (Stephen) Odell, Diane (Peter) Schell, Alan (Heather) Schneider, Priscilla Heeter. Stepfather of Jeffrey (Mary Jeanne) Nobers, Jan (Neva) Nobers. Brother of Gretchen (Sanford) Schulert and Arthur Schneider. Grandfather ”Pup-Pup” to Kristin & Rachel Odell, Jennette (Joshua) Lundberg, Evan (Anna) Schell, Emma Schell, Amelia & Owen Schneider, Katelyn & Kelsey Heeter. Step-grandfather to Leah & Gracie Atkinson, Emily & Matthew Nobers, Leah (Brian) Nimmo, Jesse Nobers. Great-Grandfather to 7 great-grandchildren.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years and mother of his five children, Priscilla Schneider, his son, Glenn; his wife of five years, Agnes “Jo” Nobers-Schneider; his parents, Gustav & Emmy Schneider & his sister, Violet Bissett.
Throughout his life, Al faithfully served his family, church, community, and country. He brought joy to many with his spunky sense of humor and zest for life. Al received a Purple Heart after being wounded in the Korean War. Upon his return from war, he worked as a general contractor and business owner of G.A. Schneider & Son, specializing in building churches and commercial properties around the Pittsburgh area. Al married and proudly raised a family of five with his wife, Priscilla. Known for their hospitality, a community of friends and neighbors routinely gathered around Al and Priscilla’s table where everyone was welcome.
In later years, he renovated properties for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Once retired, Al spent his time with family, helping neighbors, and volunteering his services at church. Al was an active member of The Bible Chapel for over 50 years. His humble service, often behind the scenes, demonstrated what it looked like to follow Jesus.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 @ 11 a.m. at The Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Dr, McMurray, PA 15317. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Bible Chapel’s “Mercy Fund” at the above address.
The family extends special thanks to the amazing team at OSPTA Hospice.
