Albert L. Cargnello, age 67, of Houston, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on November 20, 2025.

Born on August 27, 1958, Albert was the son of the late Betty and Albert M. Cargnello. He carried their values of kindness, hard work, and devotion throughout his life.

Albert’s greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his children, Ashley (Andrew) Simmons, Erica (Jeff) Monoskey, and Ryan (Fiancé Valerie) Cargnello, and by their mother, his companion and friend, Candy Craft. He was the proud and loving “Pap Pap” to Emma Ramirez, Track Monoskey, Ellie Simmons, Kellan Cargnello, Peyton Monoskey, Eva Cargnello, and Josie Simmons, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his beloved dog and constant companion, Fifi.

An outdoorsman at heart, Albert found peace and joy in nature. He loved hunting, fishing, and taking long walks with Fifi by his side. But more than anything, Albert cherished time with his children and grandchildren. WHATEVER they wanted to do crafts, baking, games, painting his toenails, cutting his hair, 5 Below and Dollar Store trips buying WHATEVER they wanted. He was always ready with a joke or a smile. He never missed a practice or a game, and most Saturdays he could be found traveling from one sporting event to the next, cheering louder than anyone.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11 am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Hope you don't mind if I share some of the letter I sent to you: Ashley, Erica and Ryan, I can’t imagine the grief you all have been going through this past week. When my mom passed, she was 92, her health was declining, and we had a sense that she could pass at any time, so we could kind of prepare ourselves. Your dad’s passing was so unexpected, it took my breath away. I am still in a state of shock. Albert was one of my best friends and I looked forward to him coming every week. Not only did he help me manage the physical challenges of this house, but we would talk and talk, a lot about our kids. Whoever wrote his obituary did a fine job of capturing the joy he had in being a dad and grandpa. I loved hearing about your big family vacations the past couple of years. What fun! And of course, I got a kick out of the stories he told me about the Bath & Body baskets we would make for everyone at Christmas. He was too darn cute using the hair dryer on the basket shrink wrap… just like a kid! May God grant you all peace as you wrestle with missing your dad. Albert will forever be in my memories as a dear friend, Jane
