Alexander Jonathan Chametzky, age 25, of Washington County, PA, formerly of McMurray (Peters Township), PA, passed away after long term suffering from drug addiction July 8, 2022.

Born on May 13, 1997 in Seattle, WA, he is the son of Barry Chametzky and Marc Chametzky né Shannon. He is the biological son of Eddie Tapia and Ernestina Ruiz. Brother of Memory Tapia, Eddie Tapia, Angel Tapia, Robert Tapia, Stephanie Madrid , and the late Nicholas Chametzky. He was also a friend to many.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.

I had the pleasure of meeting Alex when he moved in next door. We lived in a duplex and he was our neighbor. We got really close to Alex because you can't not love Alex. I really tried to keep him safe but unfortunately I wasn't there in the end. I did get to see him about 2 weeks ago. He just started pouring his heart out to me. I got one last hug as we said our goodbyes. We got to say 'I love you ' one last time. My daughter died 7/28/20 from the same awful disease. So I know that they are soaring together. You will always have a special place in my heart. He was loved by many people. I send my condolences to your family. You are not alone in your grief of losing a child. But now I know that they are finally safe and pain-free.

Alex was like a little brother to me. He ended up coming to live with me and my family and we got even closer. My girls adored him and tried spending any chance they could with him. I tried everything I could to help Alex see his true potential. He had so much to offer this world. Even though his life was cut so short, he still made such a huge impact on the people he met along the way. I will forever miss my dear friend. Alex will always hold a special place in my heart.. rest easy my friend, always watch over us. My condolences to his family.

Our hearts are broken over the loss of Alex. He was such a lovely kind and personable young man. May he Rest In Peace and hopefully his family will find Peace knowing that Alex’s pain and struggles are over with. We feel privileged to have known him as we did and especially having the opportunity to see him over the last few weeks. ❤️
