Anita Beth Brecosky, age 62, of Canonsburg, PA, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband and family by her side on May 29, 2026.
Born on October 11, 1963, in McKees Rocks, PA, Anita was the daughter of the late George and Harriet Kersnick.
Anita dedicated her life to her family as a devoted wife and stay-at-home mother. She found joy in working with her hands and took great pride in everything she created. Whether tending her gardens, growing fruits and vegetables, preserving her harvest through canning, preparing meals for those she loved, or knitting thoughtful gifts, Anita poured her heart into all she did.
A lifelong learner, Anita was endlessly curious and always eager to discover better ways to farm, garden, and create. She enjoyed reading, watching educational programs, and expanding her knowledge about homesteading and self-sufficiency. Her passion for crafting eventually blossomed into her own homemade soap business. Alongside her husband, George, Anita spent many weekends in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, proudly selling her handcrafted soaps, bath bombs, and other products. She took great satisfaction in sharing her creations with others and building connections through her work.
Above all else, Anita’s greatest love was her family. She was a steadfast source of support, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her warm heart, strong spirit, and dedication to those she cared for will be remembered by all who knew her.
Anita is survived by her beloved husband, George, with whom she shared 36 years of marriage; her loving daughter, Kaitlin Brecosky (puppy Baxter); her sister Amy Kersnick; and her brother, Charles “Chuck” (Lika) Kersnick. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Kersnick, and her sister, Andrea Good. She also leaves behind 7 nieces and nephews.
Though she will be deeply missed, Anita leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, creativity, and family devotion that will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
