Our beloved, Anita Lynne McNabb, passed away on July 6, 2024 at her brother’s home.  She was 57 years young.

Born on May 22, 1967, Anita was the cherished daughter of Hilda (Abramovitz) McNabb “Kunie” and the late William J. McNabb Sr. “Knobby”.  Anita loved her family immensely! She is survived by her brother, Bill (Melisa) and her adored nieces, that she was so very proud of, Meara and Meghan McNabb.

Anita graduated college with a BA in Political Science but discovered her love of the food industry at the famous, Froggy’s Bar.  Anita is a 20 year veteran of Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, where she made lifelong friends that cheered her to the end.  The last four and a half years , Anita endured, with courage, grace, and a little bit of her legendary snideness, Stage IV pancreatic cancer.  She refused to let cancer slow her down.  She continued to winter in Big Pine Key, FL, where her “tribe” gathered to lift her spirits!  Anita loved, loved, loved to travel.  Her last big adventure was spending six weeks in Alaska, with the bears!  She had ventured to all 50 states, some more than once and several European countries.

The family would like to thank AHN Hospice, especially Rhonda and Joyce.  A very special thank you to Nina, Christine and Lauren for jumping in so quickly and caring for Anita like their very own sister.

Anita’s body may have failed but her spirit was stubbornly strong!  In lieu of a traditional memorial service, Anita requested a “big party” which will take place on July 21, 2024 from 1:00pm until 6:00pm at the Forest Grove Fire Hall, 2044 Ewings Mill Rd. Coraopolis 15108.  Please send RSVP’s to themcnabbs4@verizon.net by July 17th!  As Anita would say “ROCK ON”!

My husband and I first met Anita many years ago over a plate of perogies and we traded her some fresh caught fish at Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge💕. It was a love affair from that night on! We adored her and loved her strong spirit! She lived her life on her terms in spite of her diagnosis! She was the most beautiful person inside and out and so loving and nonjudgmental! Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever 🙏🏻💔. Rest in peace Anita
