With deep love and sorrow we announce the passing of Anthony S. Tarquinio who passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026.   A beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

Tony was born on May 5, 1938, in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood, to Salvatore and Ann Tarquinio.  He attended Oliver High School, served in the US Army and later worked at Bayer Corporation for more than 38 years.

Tony was the loving and devoted husband of 64 years to Audrey (Gnipp) Tarquinio.  Over the years, they created a warm and welcoming home for family and friends.  He was the father of Michael (Jennifer) and Sue (Matt) Rodgers.  His most favorite role was being a devoted grandfather to Nicholas Tarquinio, Meghan (Sean) Evans, Matthew and Lauren Rodgers.

From an early age, Tony was known for a kind spirit, a strong sense of responsibility and a deep love for family.  He was known as the neighborhood handyman and always there to lend a hand with any project that you may have had and willing to lend you a tool from his beloved garage, sometimes referred to as the Home Depot of Dendron Drive.

Over the years, Tony had many interests and hobbies.  He was a Life Member of the Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department having spent over 50 years fighting fires, working on projects or just helping with simple acts of kindness.  He was also an avid hunter with the Stowe Sportsman Club and had many fond memories of times spent at “The Farm” with dear friends.  He loved fishing, drawing up plans for something to be built, and most of all, making birdhouses to be given to friends and charities.  Above all, Tony treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Per his wishes, there will be no viewing.  A Thanksgiving of Life Service will be held at KenMawr United Presbyterian Church at 1:00 on August 16, 2026.  Internment will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks, PA  15136.  Condolences may be made at https://www.pittsburghcremation.com/.
