Ashton Charles Southerly
October 12th, 2020 – June 17th, 2021
Ashton Charles Southerly was born on October 12th, 2020, in Morgantown, WV at WVU Hospital to Michael and Patricia Southerly, of Washington, PA, with a remarkable full head of brown hair and the instant adoration of all who met him.  He passed away peacefully at home on June 17th, 2021, holding hands with his mother and father and surrounded by his favorite toys.
With brilliant blue eyes and an affable nature, Ashton was a natural charmer who captured the love and attention of people worldwide as they followed his journey online and in person.  He had a contagious smile that he shared generously, the largest of which he saved for his mother, father, and most of all for big brother Cameron.  Often remarked by his visitors to be an “old soul,” he was an independent baby and was not afraid to let people know what he wanted (or did not want).  He loved swimming, cake, ice cream, his brother forever, Cameron, and snuggling with mom and dad.
He is survived by his father, Michael Southerly and his mother, Patricia Southerly, as well as older brother, Cameron Southerly, grandparents, Paul Southerly and partner Millie Thomas, Jeannette Southerly, Charlene Hartley and husband Dean, Michael Gardill and wife Grace, Great Grandmother Diana Lee and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family who will miss him dearly.
Services will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Wheeling, West Virginia at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to childhood cancer organizations or his beloved seahorse to any children’s hospital.
