Barbara “Barb” Costello, age 87 of Bethel Park, PA passed away on March 25, 2021. Born on April 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Mary Catherine Rafferty and Raymond Edward Condon. Beloved wife to the late Michael J. Costello.  Loving mother to Michael J. Costello, Jr. (Andrea); Brian T. Costello (Darlene); James P. Costello (Melanie); Karen Costello Harker (Todd); predeceased Barbara Ann Costello. Cherished grandmother to Brian, Michael, Charlie, Jesse, Shannon, Catherine, Patrick and great grandmother to Michael and Jack. Loving brother to Stephen Gallagher.

Barb was a graduate of Jersey City Medical Center School of Nursing.  She performed a variety of nursing positions during her 46 year career as a RN, retiring after doing case management.

Faith, family, friends and fun were her guiding posts.  Barb enjoyed being with friends, traveling with her cousin, family reminiscing with brother Stephen and cousin Kathie, crafting, gardening, gold and reading.  She loved her furry friends and most recently her beloved Oscar.

Fond memories included the Jersey shore and Maryland blue crabs.

Family was her pride & joy.  Barb loved time together with her family and valued her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 2 PM – 4 PM and 6 PM – 8 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 10 AM at St. John XXIII (formerly St. Benedict the Abbott), 120 Abington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peters Township Library or St. John XXIII, 120 Abington Road, McMurray.

A great Mother!! A role model that I tried to emulate in my life and a best friend. She took great pride in keeping her family together for 30 years after my Dad passed. That family closeness has been passed down to generations. Will miss her so very much. We all loved our calls and laughs and times at the beach.
