Barbara Hughes

Barbara Hughes, 78, of Washington, PA passed away with family by her side on June 8, 2026. Born on June 19, 1947 in Claysville, PA she is the daughter of the late Charles and Daisy Johnson.

Loving mother to Melinda Hughes and John Hughes Jr.; Beloved Mam-mal to Alyssa Kosek and Logan Colborn; GG to Jaivian Fowler, Jaleeza Fowler, Kooper Heckard, Kingston Mosley; She is also survived by her former son in law, David Colborn, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her sibling, Nancy Kelley and Romaine Phillips.

Barbara was a beautiful woman with a loving soul whose kindness and caring nature touched everyone who knew her. She loved spending her time playing bingo, working on puzzles, and treating herself to strawberry sundaes and sweet tea from McDonald’s. These small comforts brought her happiness and were often accompanied by her cheerful spirit. More than anything, Barbara treasured the time she spent with her family. Whether gathered for special occasions or enjoying everyday moments together, she cherished being surrounded by those she loved. Barb also had a special bond with her beloved cat, Patches, who brought her great joy and companionship.

All arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
