Barbara Mae Riether, of Upper St. Clair, Pgh, age 73, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC.

She was the loving wife of Dale J. Riether, Sr. to whom she was married for 54 years.  Born on November 26, 1944 in Carnegie, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Lottie Jesiolkiewic.

Bobbie was cherished by those who truly knew her.  She exuded kindness and love to all. She was extremely proud of her family and her Polish heritage. Recently, Bobbie and Dale relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC as her dream was to live by the beach.

Bobbie gifted us with a legacy of love, laughter, traditions, family recipes, and precious memories. She loved cooking, entertaining company, playing cards, giving gifts, spending lots of time with her family and friends. Bobbie was affectionately known as the ‘baby hog’ as she hugged and cuddled any baby she could find. Grammie Bobbie truly loved to spoil her grandchildren, including the grand-dogs too! They live on as Grammie’s angels.

Barbara is survived by one daughter, Michelle Bevec, and her husband, John of Canonsburg, PA; two sons, David J. Riether, and his wife, Lisa of Fort Hill, PA and Dale J. Riether, Jr., and his wife Patricia of Bethel Park, PA; six grandchildren – JP Bevec, Tommy Riether, Tony Bevec, Alexandra Riether, Marlee Riether, and Melanie Riether; her sister Delores “Dee” Kochin, her brother Carl “Chick” Jesiokiewic as well as 4 late brothers – Joe, Melvin “Penner”, Joe “Coke”, Stan “Popeye” and 3 late sisters – Jean, Lottie “Bau”, Blance “BeeBee”; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are welcome Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 2-8 pm at Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546.  A Funeral Mass will held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Louise de Marillac, 320 McMurray Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241.  EVERYBODY MEET AT THE CHURCH. The burial at Queen of Heaven will be private.

Bobbie treasured the annual family vacation at Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp every summer for the past 46 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deer Valley Conservancy Fund (Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp), 254 Deer Valley Dr., Fort Hill, PA 15440 or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

No words can express my sorrow over the loss of this wonderful lady. The description of her in the obituary is perfect. Kind, loving, fun, welcoming. She literally embraced everyone in her life. It was obvious how much her family loved her and vice versa. She is missed. Dale, Dave, Michelle, Lisa and families....our hearts share your tears.

Bobbi was truly a delight at Deer Valley. She taught me to play dominoes using "Riether rules" and I enjoyed it immensely. She will be deeply missed. Her loss will also be felt during the daily "Dr Pepper" gatherings. Deer Valley week 7 will now have a permanent cloud with her passing. On behalf of the Slack-Fousts and Jake & Vera Foust, our deepest sympathies to her entire family.

One of our first memories of Deer Valley week 7 was meeting the wonderful Riether family. Over the years we got to know Bobbie and she was always one of the first to greet us with a great big hug as we began our Deer Valley week. Her love for friends and family was so sincere and we all loved her back. The world will not be the same without Bobbie Riether. We wish she would have had more time to enjoy her coastal home. The Vichiches would like to express our deepest sympathy to Dale and the entire Riether family.

We remember Bobbi as Mary's chairleading coach. She went to St. Louise Parish and we both went to Deer Valley. We had very parallel lives. Of course we know Dave because he went to school with Pat. Pat bought Heather's engagement ring from Dale. We are so sincerely sorry for your loss. Our love to the family.

Bobbie lived life to the fullest and touched so many lives just by being who she was. She was always there through happy times & sad, knowing just what to say and do, or adding that extra special touch to a gift or recipe. She will be missed more than words can say and forever hold a special place in our hearts. Bobbie still brings a smile to my face, remembering all the good times, family gatherings, celebrations & events & holidays spent together. To all of her family and friends...hold on to those memories, for they last a lifetime!

Bobbie was a beautiful, warm and joyous presence in our lives and all that she came in contact with. From the day that I met her I was welcomed into her arms and her heart and she will be missed so much. We will cherish our precious memories of her in our hearts. We send our love and condolences to Dale and all of the Riether family.
