Bernard “Bernie” Vincent Furno, born on June 6, 1956, in Hermanie, PA, passed away peacefully at home in Irwin, on September 24, 2024, at the age of 68. He was the son of the late Bernard “Barney” Furno and the late Phyllis Regina “Bucky”(stepfather Andy) Jones.

Bernie was the beloved partner of Cathy Lusebrink for 36 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Bernie was a devoted father to Cathy’s children, David (Amy) Lusebrink and William (Kensee) Lusebrink, and a cherished grandfather to Mia, August, Piper, and Lochlan. He was also brother to Regina (Chuck) Bazala, Patty Furno, Bernice (the late Ed) Haines, and Ernie (Angela) Furno.

Bernie was a proud member of the Italian Miners Association of Hahntown for over 50 years and was also actively involved with the Herminie Association Club. His commitment to these organizations reflected his deep appreciation for his heritage and community.

A man of many passions, Bernie and Cathy loved to travel and explore new places together. Yet, his heart was always with his family. Bernie found immense joy in watching his grandchildren play, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Known for his hospitality, Bernie and Cathy loved to entertain and host parties, filling their home with the joyous sounds of family and friends.

Bernie was known for his soft heart and easy-going nature. He was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, giving all who knew him the opportunity to gather and honor him. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
