The Peters Family sends our condolences on the loss of Betty Anne. She was a beautiful person and our prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Our mom, Jo Peters was very found of Betty Anne and she always enjoyed the time they spent together. We hope they have reunited in heaven and are sharing stories, singing and laughing and most importantly guiding us from above.
Betty was my favorite person when I was a volunteer at Pittsburgh zoo. She was very kind and I will miss her lovely smile. My favorite memory was when I was afraid of snakes in one of the docent training classes she taught me to be brave I finally ended up holding a snake and I overcame my fear. I will cherish the memories I had with her and my thoughts and prayers go to her family and loved ones.

When I started volunteering as a Docent at the Pittsburgh Zoo in 2016, Betty was one of the first people I encountered. She taught some of the Docent orientation classes and there was not an animal question that she couldn’t answer. Betty was a very practical person, and she helped the new volunteers establish priorities. She was kind and welcoming toward everyone. If I was scheduled to work an event with Betty I knew we would have fun.

Betty was our docent trainee instructor. She was always upbeat and smiling. She was knowledgeable. She was kind. She will be missed.
