Stuart William “Bill” Hambelton, 75, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, after a years-long battle with pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) cancer.

Bill was a dedicated aviation engineer who spent his career with US Airways. He took great pride in his work and was known as a serious, committed employee, as well as a loyal friend, parent, and grandparent.

He had a deep thirst for knowledge and a lifelong love of reading. In his free time, he enjoyed watching European soccer and college football (especially cheering on Ohio State), listening to rock and roll music-favorites including Pink Floyd, Genesis, and The Beatles- even naming his dog John Winston Lennon.

Above all, Bill will be remembered for his love of family. He is survived by Susan Hambelton; his children, Brittainy (CJ Pascarella) and lan (Kelly Reilly) Hambelton; and his grandchildren, James and Grace Pascarella.

He is also survived by his brother, Kevin Hambelton; his sisters, Heather (Chris) Casturo, Bobbie Lee Haney, and Edyth (Hambelton) Trucks; and was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Vaughn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Anova Home Hospice, especially his nurse, Jessica Tibbs, and her team, for the compassionate care they provided in his final months. A special thank you as well to his favorite aide, Holly. The family is also deeply grateful for his close friends Tom and Brian who were not only friends, but became the best of caregivers lending a helping hand any time day or night.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. If so inclined, donations may be made to Anova Home Hospice or to the PMP Research Foundation (www.pmpcure.org) in Bill’s memory.

My condolences to the Hambelton family. Bill was not only my coworker at US Airways but he was also my good friend. As our paths took different directions at the airline I knew I could always stop by his cube and have a spirited conversation. Rest in peace, S. William.

Condolences to Bill’s family. I had the honor of working with Bill at US Airways. He possessed a great deal of knowledge and experience that he was always willing to share. I learned a lot from him, but it wasn’t only airline information. His work and approach to life along with his care for others was an example to be followed. I was privileged to know him. Bill, thank you and may you rest in peace.
