Bridget Elizabeth Marree

Bridget Elizabeth Marree was born sleeping at 6:19am on July 24, 2026 at West Penn Hospital to Brandon and Maggie Marree at 21 weeks and 1 day. We felt Bridget kicking until the end, however birth was too much for her little body and our little girl passed.  

We chose the name Bridget because of Maggie’s connection to Bridget’s Cradles and St. Brigid of Irelandwhere both Maggie and Brandon’s relatives descend from. Elizabeth was the name of her late older sister and Maggie’s late (and wonderful) cousin, Elizabeth Ann Campano.  

Bridget was our miracle baby because of the low chances of conception due to medical complications. We were unexpectedly surprised with the news that Maggie was pregnant. Felix, our cat was the first to know and was more clingy than usual to Maggie and a series of blood tests confirmed this.  

Maggie could feel Bridget kick once she was large enough to do this. Brandon first felt Bridget kick while in the pew of St. Patrick’s Church in Malvern at his cousin’s Mollie’s wedding in May. Since that happened before Mass, we both knew Bridget was extra special. 

During every pregnancy, both mom and baby love certain foods. When Maggie ate ice cream (especially from Page’s Dairy Mart), Bridget became both a gymnast and kickboxer. It was amazing for Maggie to feel that and Brandon would buy ice cream for Maggie’s cravings and to feel Bridget kick and bounce around.  

During Bridget’s brief time on this earth, she was loved by everyone. We made the big announcement of her gender at Maggie’s annual family picnic, with Brandon and Maggie’s dad hitting golf balls that turned pink. Sorry team blue, team pink won!  

Bridget, our wonderful girl was cooperative during labor and delivery, which Brandon witnessed. This was a beautiful sight, nothing will compare to it. Bridget was immediately baptized into the Roman Catholic faith, with Mom, Dad and West Penn staff as witnesses. 

Bridget is survived by her parents, Brandon and Maggie (Macek) Marree and furry siblings Felix and Lorelai. Her grandparents, Bill and Sandy Macek, Tom and Noreen Marree, step-grandmother Michelle Marree (Tom), half-brother Colin Marree and great-grandmother, Marilyn Erbst and step-great-grandmother Suzanne Golicher. Also surviving are Aunts Becky Macek and Kortney Marree, Uncles Brian and Justin (Kortney) Marree and their daughter Addison. Additionally, Bridget is survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and many extended family and friends.   

Maggie and Brandon are pained by this loss, but are comforted knowing that their daughter was greeted in heaven by her older sister Elizabeth and are now the best of friends forever. 

Funeral services will be held on August 8, 2026 at Christ our Redeemer Cemetery Chapel, at 11:00am with Fr. Leo Dornan and Deacon Bill Palamara presiding. Bridget will be laid to rest next to her sister Elizabeth at the Infants section of Christ our Redeemer Cemetery.  Please meet at the Resurrection Chapel (lower level).
