Bruce Noel Ambrose, age 84, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bruce was the beloved son of the late Wilma and Frank Ambrose.

He was the devoted husband of 57 years to Carol Ambrose; a loving father to Allison (Chris Stefano) Ambrose, Braden Ambrose, and David Ambrose; and a proud and adoring Grampap to Olivia (Jonah) Seymour, Ella Noto, Mason Ambrose, and Preston Ambrose. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Marino.

Bruce was an avid golfer and took great pride in his accomplishments on the course. He scored his first hole-in-one on the 6th hole at Churchill Valley Country Club in October of 1974, the longest hole ever made by a left-hander at that time, and it was the first of many holes-in-one throughout his life. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Bruce was a season ticket holder for decades and rarely missed a game. He was also a devoted animal lover with a generous heart.

Above all, Bruce adored his four grandchildren and spoiled them endlessly. His kindness, humor, and love for family will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Tee–Pittsburgh, 5370 Schenley Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217 (412-622-0108; [email protected]), a nonprofit organization that provides golf equipment and opportunities for children just beginning the game, or to South Hills Pet Rescue, 15 Old 88, South Park, PA 15129 (724-622-0434) http://southhillspetrescue.org

Sorry about your dad’s passing. I know how much he meant to you, and I’m here for you in whatever way you need — talking, sitting in silence, anything. You’re not going through this alone. Take care of your mom!

Just saw. Back in about 1974, Bruce was my life insurance agent. He convinced me to buy a certain house up in Holiday Park, Plum Boro. I valued his financial advice.
