I will always have such fond memories of Aunt Carleen. When I was a little girl, my mom would take me to visit her and Doreen. Aunt Carleen’s house always made me feel like I was in a storybook. She had beautiful flower beds in summer, and her unique artistic touch could be seen throughout her home. I vividly remember a wall she had covered in greeting cards she received. The cards had a burnt edge, and they were lovingly adhered to the wall with lacquer placed over them to protect them. Everything in her house was carefully chosen, created, and placed with great care. And the scent of her home remains with me, all these years later. It was a mixture of the scent of an earthy potpourri mixed with a lovely floral perfume. Visiting Aunt Carleen was always special to me. She was loving, kind, generous, gifted, and comforting to be around. She will be missed. I’m sending my love and heartfelt sympathy to everyone who loved her.
