Carol Ann (DeCort) Mitterer

Carol Ann Mitterer (DeCort) passed away Saturday March 19th, just two short months after the passing of her beloved Husband James. She leaves behind sister Dianna (Dee) Haid, Daughter Angela (Mark) Charles and son Marc (Rachel) Mitterer as well as grandson Jacob Charles and several nieces & nephews.

Carol was born January 31st, 1944 to her parents Josephine and James and raised alongside her Sister Dee and her Brother James on Dengler Street in Mount Oliver. Carol married James Mitterer on May 16th, 1964 and once he returned from serving in Southeast Asia they traveled around the country while stationed at different Air Force bases. During a stay in Nebraska, their Daughter Angela was born. Years later in Tokyo, Japan they welcomed their Son, Marc.  After James’ retirement from the Air Force, they settled in Bethel Park, where they lived the rest of their lives. Carol and her Husband James loved to travel and spend time with their Family, especially their Grandson Jacob, who Carol truly adored.  She was an avid reader of books and always looked forward to the next James Patterson novel. Carol was known to many from her time working for and with Saint Thomas More Church and made many lifelong friends who were by her side until the end.

Memorial to be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies for both Carol and Jim, April 14th at 10am with small reception to follow.
