Carole Flaherty, 73, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. Born March 15, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Carole lived a full and eventful life shaped by strength, conviction, and deep devotion to her family.
Carole spent many years working as a nurse before retiring from her career in healthcare. She was a strong-willed woman who spoke her mind and lived life on her own terms. Those who knew her best understood her determination, resilience, and unmistakable personality. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed reading, spending time with her beloved dog, Shadow, and socializing with her friends at the Canon House retirement community, whose companionship she truly enjoyed. She was also very proud of her Irish descent, a heritage she carried with pride throughout her life.
Her Christian faith was an important part of her life, and her love for Jesus remained a steady presence throughout the years.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Shelley Kellington (Nick), and her son, Scott Staszak (Autumn). She was grandmother to Marissa Hirt (Christian), Riley Kellington, Mackenzie Kellington, and Cayden Kellington, as well as seven adopted grandchildren whom she also cherished. She was a proud great-grandmother to Rocco Hirt. She is also survived by her siblings Patricia Miller, James Flaherty (Julia), and Daniel Flaherty (Kathi), and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held privately with family.
