Charles L. Mason, Jr., affectionately known as “Puckie,” of Rochester, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on September 22, 1947, to the late Dorothy and Charles L. Mason, Sr., Charles leaves behind a legacy filled with love, adventure, and cherished memories.
He is survived by his son Charles “Charlie” (Beth) Mason; his siblings: Mary Lou Renick, Mark A. Mason, and Julie (William) Slingluff. He was preceded in death by his sister Sandy Mason. Charles was also a beloved grandfather to Noah and Luke Mason, who brought immense joy to his life. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Charles lived a life deeply connected to nature, finding solace and excitement in the great outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he shared his passion with others as a hunting guide in Montana for many years. His expertise and love for the wilderness were evident to all who knew him.
Professionally, Charles was the proud owner of the former Northern Outdoors Sporting Goods in Cook’s Forest. Through his business, he fostered a community of outdoor enthusiasts and shared his knowledge with countless customers.
A true Pittsburgher at heart, Charles was a devoted fan of the city’s sports teams. He cheered passionately for the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins, finding camaraderie and joy in each game.
Private arrangements for Charles were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care in Robinson Township, PA. As family and friends mourn his passing, they take solace in the cherished memories and lasting impact he leaves behind. Charles will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit, unwavering love, and generous heart.
