Christine (Chris) Knittel, age 62, of Crafton-Ingram, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 18th, 2022. She was born on September 29th, 1960, and is the daughter of the late John Sr. and Maria Janiec.
Beloved wife of Gary Knittel, her life partner for over 36 years.
Loving mother of Jonathan Knittel (Kristen) and Rachael Maier (Robert). Chris is also survived by 6 grandchildren – Reece, Nia, Savannah, Madeline, Emily, and Jonathan.
Known as “Chrissy” to her siblings, she was the beloved sister of JoAnne (James) DeKlavon, Maria (Red) Strimel, Joseph Janiec, Margaret (Rich) Stephan, Barbara (Norman) Weiss, Helen Carter, Irene (Ron, passed) Yano, John (Jean) Janiec, Frank (Gayle) Janiec, Antonia (David, passed) Varley, and Eleanor (Steve) Mitsch. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Chris will be remembered for her home cooking passed down from her mother, love for music, singing, and dancing. She was a loving grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Chris loved her cats, the beach, sunflowers, reading, and always gave the warmest hugs.
A private visitation will be held at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care located at 5405 Steubenville Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15136 on Tuesday, November 29th, from 10am-1pm to celebrate Christine’s life.
