Christopher H. Norton, age 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born and raised in Peters Township before leaving to attend Bowling Green State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, in 1981. Shortly after, he moved to the Washington D.C. area to work as an Operations Manager for a furniture installation company known as Shaw Walker. During his tenure, and while he was on a job, he was providentially introduced to his future wife, Susan Peters. In 1991, the two married, and in 1995, welcomed their only child, Royce Norton. Chris went on to work for numerous, well-established installation companies, maintaining his title of ‘Manager of Operations’ throughout.

Outside of work, family was a key aspect of Chris’s life. He was an avid golfer and shared that same passion with his brothers, Billy and Ricky Norton, as well as his late father, John Norton. Although living in the Washington D.C. area, with all of the sport temptations around him, he remained a Pittsburgh sports enthusiast through and through. With none no greater than enjoying every football Sunday, representing his black and gold.

Recently, Chris was also able to gain the belief and trust in Christ. In the summer of 2017, he became a loyal member of The Bible Chapel church. He was able to fulfill his wish and join a family of believers, an achievement he not only earned, but took great pride in being able to convey. That is why we would be honored, if you wish to donate, if you do so to The Bible Chapel, so that they could continue to touch people’s lives, in the same manner they did with him.

Chris had an uncanny ability to fill a room. He was a humble soul with a rare flamboyant and radiant personality that was infectious to be around. He instilled upon all that knew him that there could never be a dull moment, and never shied away from the idea this would always make him stand out in a crowd. He used his raw humor in every facet of his life, and by doing so, brought a smile to everybody around him. In 2011, Chris suffered a stroke that brought him back to the Pittsburgh area. Regardless of the circumstances he faced, he never let his condition change who he was. He remained a devoted father and continued to lead by example in consistently finding new ways of having his pure disposition shine bright. His wonderful light along with his contagious smile, will forever be missed.

Chris is the father of Royce Norton; Son of Nancy (Fred) Schneider and the late John Norton; Brother of Rick (Tammy) and Bill (Amy) Norton and Step-Brother of Betsy (Richard) Krausa and Curtis (Carla) Schneider.

Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Bible Chapel 300 Gallery Drive McMurray, PA 15317. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, (724) 260-5546.

Memorial contributions may be made to The South Hills Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 941-8990.

To the family, so sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Christopher has the prospect of being resurrected, healthy (in the flesh), to paradise earth as Jehovah God has promised. In fact, the vast majority will enjoy everlasting life right here on earth as God intended from the beginning. God's kingdom will do this under the rule of Jesus Christ. READ John 5:28,29, Job 14:14,15, Psalms 37:29, Matthew 6:9,10, Matthew 5:5 and Revelation 21:2-4

I hadn't really known Chris all that long nor all that well but I am grateful for the time I did share with him. I believe he fought hard for the life he once had but it was not to be. I'm glad he's "whole and well" once more and waiting for his family when they can all be together again. Prayerful blessings. Nancy Prince Thomas
