Connie Ruth Filby

Connie Ruth Filby, age 86, of Century Plaza Apartments, Washington, PA, formerly of Claysville, PA, passed away at 10:18 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in the Washington Hospital after a brief battle with lung cancer.

Mrs. Filby was born on July 21, 1936, in Claysville, the only daughter of the late Harley I. Powers and Ruth Ann Westfall Powers.

Over the course of her career, Connie worked at the Bank of Idaho, Tygart Valley Glass Company and Brockway Glass, PNC Bank, and finally retired from Bull International in Washington after working there for 18 years.

On September 2, 1956, in Claysville, she married Raymond C. Filby who passed away on March 5, 2009.

Connie is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey R. Filby of South Fayette, PA, and Terry C. Filby of Bridgeville, PA, and her only grandson, Nathan Larry Filby of Bethel Park, PA.

Per the deceased’s request, there will be no visitation, viewing or service.  Funeral preparations will be handled by Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care in McMurray, PA.  A private interment will be held at the family’s convenience at Claysville Cemetery.
