Dale E. Barger

Dale Edwin Barger, 98, passed away on June 19, 2022. He was born in Champaign County, Ohio on August 30, 1923 to the late Lewis and Minnie Barger. He married Gloria Jean Duff on May 14, 1949 in Miami Shores, FL. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2009. He leaves two daughters, Melody Hannegan of Pittsburgh, PA and Linda (William) Demeritt of Orlando, FL, and four grandchildren, Lindsey Demeritt of Orlando, FL, William (Keegan) Demeritt III of Fontana, CA, Julia (Matthew Darlage) Posteraro of Pittsburgh, PA and Sara (Peter) Dinges of Chicago, IL. He has nine great-grandchildren. Dale graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1941 and served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946 where he was stationed on Maui for a year before qualifying for the V-12 program for officer training at Iowa State College where he studied engineering. He graduated there in 1947. Dale retired after 28 years from the Florida Power and Light Company in Miami, FL. His memorial Service will be held at Northmont Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, on Saturday, June 25th at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Donations to the church will be appreciated.
