Dale E. Lowden Sr., 63, of Pittsburgh, departed this life Saturday, June 19, 2021, in his home.

Dale was born September 12, 1957 in Pittsburgh, PA., son of the late Newton A. Lowden Sr. and Stella L. Lowden. He grew up in St. Clair Village, and later his family relocated to Beltzhoover to a home his father brought for the family. He had three sisters and a brother: Antionette LaRue, Renea DeVaughn, Shiela Robinson, and the late Newton A. Lowden Jr.

He attended South Hills High School. He was an avid wrestling and boxing fan. Hulk Hogan was his favorite wrestler. Dale loved to work-out and walk everywhere. His favorite attire was a wife beater, hat to the back, towel around his neck and socks “with the stripes” up to his knees. He loved to let his beard grow long, despite what anyone else thought about it. He never let his disability (Epilepsy) stop him from doing what he wanted to do.

He worked on Fifth Avenue at Uptown Parking for years, flagging cars for events at the old Civic Arena and PPG Paints Arena. If you wanted to find Dale, simply ride on Fifth Avenue and there he was greeting you with a smile.

He was preceded in death by the “love of his life,” Florence (Toug) McClendon, with which they had 4 children and 6 grandchildren whom currently reside in Lancaster PA: Walaysa C. Lowden 40, (son, Trebor L. Glover 16); Taria L. Lowden 34 (son, Ty’Zae R. Grant 8); Dale E. Lowden Jr. 29 (daughters, Harmony N. Lowden 13 & Mulan D. Lowden 2); Robert C. Lowden 27, (daughters, Tazhianna L.F. Lowden 13 & Tazjhana M.A. Lowden 10). Dale has a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him dearly.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

– Philippians 4:7

“There is no greater disability in society, than the inability to see a person as more.” – Robert M. Hensel
