Daniel P. Horne

Daniel P. Horne, 87, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026. Born on March 23, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA he is the son of the late Harold and Margaret Shine Horne.

Beloved brother to Michael (Diana) Horne of Pittsburgh, Claire Horne of Pittsburgh, and Christopher Horne of Suffolk,Virginia; Loving uncle to Pamela J. Horne and Kathy L. (Tim) Byfield; Great-uncle to Colin and Faith Kozlowski, Emmet, Owen, and Kieran Byfield.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary L. Horne Henderson, of Savannah, Georgia.

Daniel was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. He will be remembered for his love of reading and lifelong interest in learning. He especially enjoyed American and world history and appreciated thoughtful discussions about politics and current events.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 4pm-8pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 10am at St. Benedict the Abbott Church, 120 Abington Drive McMurray, PA 15317. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 718 Hazelwood Ave, Pittsburgh, PA, 15217.
