On June 23, 2020, Darcy Mueller lost her six-month battle with brain cancer, but don’t remember her for that. Instead, remember the always-on-the-go lady who loved music, nursing and being active.

Darcy, in her 61 years of life, spent her time singing in the choir at Holy Trinity, biking on the Montour trail with her husband, Dave, and lounging at the Robinson pool. She took a walk every day – rain, snow or shine – and may have known the neighborhood dogs’ names better than the humans.

She was incredibly proud of and passionate about her career in nursing, especially her job as the Sto-Rox School nurse. She even informed the doctors that they will have to do the March physicals in her place if she wasn’t out of the hospital in time. She enjoyed being part of the students’ lives, especially helping at proms, homecomings and any other events.

As the resident photographer at family events, she made sure everything was documented and although many moaned, the family was grateful. Make sure you take a photo next time you are with your loved ones, or just because!

Darcy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dave, and two daughters, Stephanie Pedersen and Natalie Mueller. She was loved by many. Her family included her son-in-law, Brad Pedersen; her aunt, Patty Claus; sister, Cheryl Lieb and family; and brother, Bill Dolinick and family and the extended family of the Mueller side.

Please join the family in remembering the good times on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. (412) 787-1800. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 5718 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks, PA 15136.

The family is also hosting a memorial celebration on July 11, 2020. If you would like to join, please contact Stephanie Pedersen or Dave Mueller for details.

My deepest condolences to Darcy's family! We knew each other by phone (never actually met in person) as we exchanged countless phone calls for student records. I worked in Pittsburgh Public School District and had school assignments in the West area of the city. Many students and their families would move frequently between Sto Rox and the city. I was always glad to spend a few minutes talking with her...always upbeat, and very organized. As school nurses, I know she was one of the best. Prayers of comfort and solace for all of you, Kathleen Crisanti
