Darlene Faye Casperson, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.  The beloved wife of George Casperson for 54 years.  She was born in Uniontown, PA to Charles and Kathryn (Thompson) Kozy and raised in Gallatin, PA.  Faye met the love of her life in 1966 while visiting her sister in Fergusonville, PA, just outside of Philadelphia, and that is where their inspiring love story began.  The two were inseparable from that moment on as they were married, raised a family and traveled the world with the US Air Force.  She didn’t let George spend too much time in heaven on his own before joining him as they passed six days apart and she is with him again.  Faye loved to travel, collect things (many things) and loved all of her many dogs and cats.  Faye was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Charles “Jack” Kozy Jr. and Kenneth Kozy, and sister Jane Hunchuck.  She was the loving mother of Mahlon Casperson (Christy) of East Palestine, OH and Shane Casperson (Tracey) of Mars, PA.  Faye was the loving grandmother of James, Allen, Haley, Jason, Ethan, George and Chase.  She is also survived by her brother Joseph Kozy (Audrey) and her sister Shirley Fell (Benny).  Faye loved and will be greatly missed by numerous friends, nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received at Christ Anglican Church in Brownsville, PA on December 21, 2021 at 11am for a service for both George and Faye.  Internment of their ashes will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Masontown, PA.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Freedom Service Dogs of America (www.freedomservicedogs.org).

This is so hard to believe! Our condolences to the whole family. We fondly remember your mom, Shane, when you lived near us in NJ.
