To Bobbie and the entire Copeland family: I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Dave through USAir, and flew many trips with him on both the DC-9 (at least a couple that I recall you were on as well, Bobbie) and the A-320. Dave was always so pleasant to work with; I always enjoyed my trips with him over the years. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Best regards, David Palmer

How very sad to hear another friend of the 1974 PTHS graduating class has crossed over. My most sincere & heartfelt condolences to Bobbie & sons. Makes me so very unhappy. I will miss Dave's smile, his winning cross-country running abilities & his positive outlook on life. Lost track of Dave over the years; but, I kept up with his flying career through another PTHS grad, Mark Leazenby. Farewell, my friend. God's blessings on your family.

Dear Bobbie and Family, Please let me add my condolences. I had worked with Dave for a long time. His passing comes as a shock to us all. I saw him just recently in the veterinarian's parking lot where he had Mitzi on his lap and we talked at length about his enjoying retirement. That chance meeting and his dynamic personality brightened up the day for me. I hadn't seen him since he retired and it was good to catch up. We had a lot of good trips together. He was a pilot's pilot and I usually learned something new every time I flew with him. I remember the time we got stranded in San Juan; me without my suitcase. He literally lent me the shirt off his back so we could go out and get dinner. It was always interesting talking to him about flying or whatever project or endeavor he was in the midst of. We talked about getting together soon to share some common interests. It is with great sadness that this cannot be. My family's hearts and prayers are with you.
