David P. Gardner, age 63 of Washington, PA passed away on October 1, 2022 due to an ongoing heart condition. Born on September 18, 1959, he was the son of the late Ellen and Howard Gardner, Sr. Beloved husband of Linda Gardner for 41 years. Loving father of Megan (Ben) Rhoades and Natalie (Matthew) Florian. Cherished Pappy of Emma and Lucas Florian. Loving brother of Cathy (Bill) Huckestein and Howard (Sheila) Gardner, Jr and uncle of Brandon (Megan) Gardner. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda (surviving Dennis) Ross. David will also be dearly missed by his dogs, Charlie, Buck and Max.

David loved his RV and his truck and enjoyed camping and boating. He enjoyed trains and made billboards for Retro Lionel train tracks. David was an animal lover and cherished the time he spent with his pets and family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society or ASPCA.

We had the privilege of knowing Mr. Gardner through his wonderful daughter, Natalie. He was an incredible man with an equally rambunctious sense of humor, unparalleled love for his family, and a natural affinity for the well-being of all species in the animal kingdom. There was a moment when he offered me sage advice and foresight during the care of our dog, Allie, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer at the time. Those words came to mean a lot to me when difficult decisions had to be made, and I thank him for giving me the strength and wisdom to do so. I still remember the emotionally moving moment at Natalie's wedding when she danced with her father. It was a breathtaking vision of genuinely selfless, true love... and I'll never forget it. He was a man who loved unconditionally, and walked through this life with his heart leading the way. Our deepest condolences to the Gardner family for the loss of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a rare measure of man that will be deeply missed by all who came to know and love him so.

I have fond memories of Dave and the entire Gardner family from my time with the THS Band. I was shocked to hear the news of his passing and wish to pass along that my family will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.
