David Raymond Meyer, age 90, of Shaler, PA, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026.
Born on May 7, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA, Dave was the beloved son of the late Raymond and Estelle Meyer and the devoted husband of the late Donna Jean Meyer.
Dave proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, a service he carried with great pride throughout his life. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to his faith and family, living a life marked by kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to God.
For more than 50 years, Dave was an active and faithful member of South Hills Church of the Nazarene. His love for the Lord was evident in the way he lived each day. He found great joy in reading the Bible, attending Southern Gospel concerts, and listening to the music that strengthened his faith. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Dave often shared his love of music with those around him, bringing comfort and joy through song.
Above all else, Dave cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He took great pride in watching his family grow and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.
Dave is survived by his his children, Daniel (Lori) Meyer and Debby Agostino; his stepchildren, Cindy (Steve) Horvath, Ted (Evelyn) Hallberg, and Lowenda Hallberg; his sister, Eileen (the late Robert) Holliday; his grandchildren, Zach (Michaela) Meyer, Cody (Lauren) Meyer, Kaleigh (Presten) Wonders, Kristy Connolly, Benjamin Smith, Andy (Julie) Hallberg, and Dan (Kelly) Hallberg; six cherished great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Monarch Hospice for their exceptional care and support, and to the caregivers and staff at Overlook Green Assisted Living for the love, kindness, and dignity they showed Dave and his family during his time in their care.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at South Hills Church of the Nazarene, 5601 Library Rd., Bethel Park, PA 15102. Inurnment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with military honors at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Doug Holliday Ministries, PO Box 953278, Lake Mary, FL 32795.
