Dean D. DaPra Sr., age 55, died Thursday April 6, 2017 unexpectedly with his dog Chewy by his side. Born November 9, 1961, he was the son of Robert J and the late Antoinette DaPra.

Dean was an exceptional athelete. In 1974, pitching for the Canonsburg Police Department, he faced 150 batters, striking out 136. His batting average was 519. In one game he struck out all 18 batters in a 6 inning game and 17 in another.

He also had an artistic mind, drawing the comedians Abbott and Costello by memory. He was elected to design the inside front cover of his graduating classbook, turing out to be controversial, but was accepted. 

He leaves his father Robert and his son Dean (Sierra), sister Denise (Robert) Paterra, brother Robert DaPra, and his granddaugher Ariana, who he had just purchased Easter gifts for the day before his death.

At the family’s request, all services will be held privatey. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317.
