Dennis was a man of fine intellect, curiosity, and a desire to learn and to teach others about the science of human behavior. He was a most valuable colleague of mine and I will miss him a great deal. He spoke often of his son and was very proud of him. We also shared a strong military connection. I am pleased to see how and where he will be buried. With kindest thoughts and deepest sympathies to the family, Abigail B. Calkin

It was my pleasure to meet Dennis when we were students of Ogden R Lindsley at the University of Kansas. Dennis was an unusual and entertaining thinker.

I, and others, will miss Dennis and mutual discourse via telephone late into the early morn. My condolences to Dennis' loved ones.

I worked with Dennis 35 years ago on some research he was doing at Morehead State. Since then, we have mulled over many datasets, papers, and conference presentations. My last contact with him was April 1st. I have lost a true friend of long duration.
