Donald “J” Lopata

Donald “J” Lopata, of Bethel Park formerly of South Side, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 31, 2020.

He was the son of the late Mary and Michael Lopata.

Beloved husband of Mary Ann Lopata for almost 50 years; loving father of Melissa (Tim) McAree; cherished grandfather of Ann and Lena McAree; dear brother of Michael (Henny) Lopata and the late George (Louise) Lopata; also survived by nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

Don’s favorite past times were painting and baking. He was the owner of Lopata’s Bakery and a long time baker at Prantl’s Bakery. He was an avid antagonist to Steeler fans by being a Patriot’s Fan.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
