Donald J. McCarriher

Donald J. McCarriher, age 88, of Coraopolis, PA, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026. Born June 23, 1937, in Sewickley, PA, Donald was the beloved son of the late Erma McCarriher and the devoted husband of the late Roberta McCarriher.

Donald was a proud Free Mason and a longtime member of Centennial-Lafayette Masonic Lodge No. 544 in Carnegie. A skilled mechanic, he had a passion for building and racing drag racing cars, a pursuit that reflected his precision, dedication, and love of hands-on work.

He also devoted more than 50 years to working as a dog handler. Donald owned, trained, and showed his own dogs and was trusted by many others to handle theirs. His deep knowledge, patience, and commitment to the craft defined a career that he continued well into his late 70s.

Donald is survived by his loving daughter, Tracey McCarriher; his sister, Norma Rupert; his nephews, Adam and Dan Szabat; and their sons, AJ, Finley, and Simon; stepfather Norman Rupert. He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Rupert.

Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
