Donald J. Ruffing, Sr.

Donald J. Ruffing, Sr., 92, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Born January 22, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the beloved son of the late John and Lillian Ruffing.

Don lived a long and full life marked by dedication to family, community, and the outdoors he cherished. A proud member of Bethel Park Masonic Lodge No. 761, he exemplified the values of fellowship and service. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA, and some of his happiest moments were spent hunting, fishing, and relaxing at his camp in the Allegheny National Forest—a place that brought him joy, peace, and countless memories.

Don, along with the help and support of his wife, Irene, owned and operated Ruffing Gulf Service, later to become Ruffing Automotive, in. Dormont for 36+ years. After his retirement in 1999, his sons took over the business.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Irene, whose partnership and love were the foundation of their family. Don was the loving father of Dorene, Donald (Lynne), and Timothy, and a proud grandfather to Hayley, Matthew, and Kevin. He was preceded in death by his brothers Rich, Cliff, and Harry Ruffing.

Don will be remembered for his warmth, his steadfast nature, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.

Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
