Doris E. Charnell, 79, of Bethel Park, PA passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. Born on October 12, 1946 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Barbara Schlumberger.

Loving mother of Diane (Daniel) Usouski, Dawn (Alfred) Hanna and Debra (Craig) Andres; Grandmother of Nathaniel and Nickolas Usouski, and Alison, Lauren, and Melody Hanna; Sister to Robert (Mary) Schlumberger, Linda (Chris) Brantley, and Ernie (Clare) Schlumberger; She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Charnell, and her twin sister Diane (John) Dilling.

Known affectionately as “everyone’s mom,” Doris had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, cared for, and loved. Whether enjoying a scoop of ice cream, a piece of chocolate, or a peaceful day fishing, Doris appreciated every moment and made those around her appreciate them too. She had a special place in her heart for animals and spending time at the beach with her family. 

A visitation will be held on June 4, 2026 from 2pm until the time of service at 7pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, 15317. Burial will take place at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies on June 9, 2026 at 12:30pm, everyone please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doris’s honor to Animal Friends.
