Dorothy Ann Mohr (Moore) of Bethel Park, PA. passed away on October 2, 2022, age 85. Dorothy was born in Pittsburgh on December 31, 1936 and spent her childhood growing up in Carrick.

As a stay-at-home mom, Dorothy’s passion was her family and to help others. Earlier in her life she worked at the Baptist Home to care for the elderly. Her hobbies were crafting and working in the garden and she took so much pride in growing her flowers and her yard.  She was always ‘there’ for family or friends and to lend a hand to those in need.  Those who knew Dorothy, would say she was a ‘just a sweetheart’.  She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her purpose was helping to shape their young lives and her joy was spending time with them.

She is survived by her longtime partner of 40 years, Russell Soliday, and late husband Richard William Moore. Dorothy is the beloved mother of Dana Moore (Susan), Derrick Moore (Nancy) and Darcie Zeliesko (Bill). Cherished grandmother of Timothy and Zachary Zeliesko and great grandmother of Kenzie and Kalina Zeliesko, dearest “DD” to Jeff, Karen, Ryan, and Evan Valperga, and survived by many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brother, Ray Malley (Janet).

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Fischetti (DiTullio) and Rainard Malley along with her sister, Lorraine Valperga (King), and her grandson, Joshua Moore.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, 10/9, 2022, at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA. 15317, (724) 260-5546 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a service directly after at 6:00 p.m.  Burial will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Monday, 10/10, at 9:30 a.m. for immediate family.

I had the pleasure of spending time with Dorothy for some time through 2020/2021, she was one of the most beautiful souls I have had the pleasure of meeting. I always looked forward to moments she would share stories from her past or when she would tell a funny joke she would have this very distinct smile after and did a little “shimmy” of her shoulders while smiling. She for sure had one of the most beautiful smiles! I will miss her dearly! Prayers to Darcie and all family/friends of this wonderful lady! Dorothy, you were very loved and I’m grateful for the friendship I found with you and Darcie! ♥️ Until we see you again!
