Dorothy S. Decker, age 104, passed away surrounded by family on May 21, 2022.

Born on May 15, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Baldwin Shields and Evelyn Stutts.

She was preceded in the death by her husband Warren Kyler Decker, and siblings, Ellie and Manny.

Loving mother of Judy (Douglas) Smith and Warren K. (Cindi) Decker Jr.; cherished grandmother of Kylie (Christopher) Malesic, Rhyan (Michaela) Smith, Alex Decker, and Michael (Alina) Decker; great grandmother of Teddy, Abbi, Emmi, Adam and David; also survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Dorothy worked as a secretary at Tyndall Field, Florida, where she dated  Clark Gable, and later met and married her husband, Warren. Dorothy was an avid golfer at Youghiogheny Country Club. She enjoyed volunteering her time at many hospitals and was a member of many women’s clubs and Bridge Clubs.  She traveled the world with her many friends. Her favorite things were Bridge, bourbon,  bacon and chocolate.  She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 7-9 pm at Friendship Village, 1290 Boyce Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or American Cancer Society at cancer.org.

Mrs. Decker was always such a sweet woman. I loved her accent and her humor. And I didn't realize she had dated Clark Gable. Wow what an amazing woman she was. May she rest in peace. God-bless her and the wonderful family that she has.
