Douglas Paul Chapman, age 56, of McKees Rocks, PA, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Born on January 27, 1970, in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late Gene and Francis (Brooks) Chapman.

Doug was the beloved father of Michael (Trisha) Chapman and Ashley (Blake) Smith; cherished grandfather of Koi, Jade, Jake, and Conner; and loving brother of Randy Chapman and Rebecca Chapman.

Doug faced many challenges throughout his life, but he met them with strength, resilience, and an unwavering positive outlook. He always chose to look on the bright side and had a special way of lifting others up, whether through a kind word or a well-timed joke. Selfless and generous, Doug would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Doug had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in fishing, camping, canoeing, and hiking. The highlight of each year was having his children visit him every summer and ensuring they were always “making memories” together. He also loved taking journeys on his e-bike, embracing both adventure and the simple pleasure of being outside. He cared deeply about the Earth and took pride in appreciating nature. He especially enjoyed visiting the ocean while spending time with family in North Carolina. In his free time, Doug enjoyed trips to the casino and had a natural talent for sports betting. Above all, he was a loving and devoted father who encouraged his children to never be afraid to try something new.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136.

Arrangements entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care.
