Doyle R. McBride

Doyle R. McBride born December 14, 1931, in Defiance OH passed away late Friday evening, February 6th 2026 in Gibsonia PA at the age of 94.  He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and educator.

Doyle is survived by his beloved wife, Eloise (Hane); his daughters, Cheryl McBride and Sybil (John) Geraud; his brother, Ron McBride (Indiana PA) and his three cherished grandchildren, Ben (Maggie) Geraud, Darcy Geraud, and Chris Geraud.  All three of whom were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.  He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Mildred McBride and his sister-in-law Phyllis McBride

A lifelong learner, Doyle attended Defiance College and Indiana University Bloomington before continuing his studies at Harvard. He spent over 30 years teaching mathematics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He particularly enjoyed teaching math majors, and was deeply committed to supporting students, including tutoring female athletes. Doyle was an active supporter of IUP women’s sports and enjoyed staying active himself playing racquetball and golf into his eighties

Family was always at the center of Doyle’s life. In retirement, he could be found at every one of his grandchildren’s events, offering steady encouragement and support. He was a strong, dependable presence — thoughtful, kind, and deeply committed to those he loved. His legacy lives on through his family, his students, and the many lives he touched. He will be dearly missed

A service celebrating Doyle’s life will be held at St Paul’s United Methodist Church in Allison Park Saturday February 14th at 11:00 AM   Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM immediately preceding the service.   In accordance with his wishes; the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.

My condolences to Doyle’s family. I was one of those math majors he taught many years ago. He made a lasting impression on me. My favorite teacher and a good man. RIP.
