Dr. Subramoniam Jayakumar, MD M.R.C.P. “Dr. Jay”, age 79, of Washington, PA passed away on January 2, 2025.

He was the loving father of Minna Jayakumar (Andrew) Allison, Esq., Sunita N. Jayakumar, MD, Shirley Jayakumar (David) Dopson, DO, and Richard Jayakumar, Esq.; grandfather of 9, Cecelia Grace Allison, MD, Grant Andrew Allison, Esq., Theodore Michael Allison, Trey Jayakumar Dopson, Olivia Jayakumar Dopson, Sebastian Rodriguez Jayakumar, Maya Jayakumar, Rafael Jayakumar and Lilian Jayakumar Dopson; Also survived by many friends and colleagues.

Dr. Jayakumar was a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Nephrology, as well as a member of the Royal College of Physicians in the U.K, and Ireland.  He was an esteemed member of the medical staff at Washington Hospital for 43 years.  During that time he served the community caring for people with kidney disease as a Nephrologist.  He was well travelled, visiting over 100 countries during his lifetime.  He had a notable impact as the Rotary International District Governor 7530, where he worked to eradicate diseases like Polio.  His greatest pride and joy were his 4 children and 9 grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of service.

Per his wishes funeral arrangements were private and limited to his children.
