Duane K. Sasek of Muse, PA died Friday, November 29 at home after a long battle with several ailments. He was born in Washington, PA on August 1, 1945 to Irene Sasek (Dorchak) and Edward “Bud” Sasek. He leaves two children, Jody Zylo (Sasek) and Ed Sasek; three grandchildren, Alexandria Sasek, Trevor Sasek, and Kolby Zylo; and his partner of many years Wanda McDonald, her son Butch; as well as several cousins.
He is predeceased by his former wife Janet Sasek (Surow). They were married in 1964 and divorced in 1975.
Having earned varsity letters in football, baseball, and wrestling, he graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in 1964. He was employed as a machine operator at Transformer in Canonsburg and later as a steelworker and welder for several companies around the country.
He enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley with his friends from the Palanka Club and Birch’s Tavern.
Immediate family and friends will gather from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on December 14 at the Palanka Club in Houston for a Celebration of Life.
