Edward C. Blanck, 75, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, from Pancreatic Cancer at home with his family and friends by his side.

Ed was born November 19, 1949 at Magee Hospital, the son of Herbert and Jessie Keister Blanck.

He was a graduate from Penn Hills High School class of 1967 and Slippery Rock University in 1971 with a degree in education. While at Slippery Rock, he was member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity.

He worked in retail as a multi-unit supervisor for Thrift Drug and CoGo’s in Pennsylvania and The Cigarette Store (Smoker Friendly) when he resided in Colorado. He owned Checker’s Cleaners in McMurray from 1982 to 1996 until he relocated to Denver. He returned to Pennsylvania in 2007 and retired from Giant Eagle as a manager for GetGo in Mt. Lebanon. After retirement, he worked for retail merchandise companies servicing local stores in the area.

Delivering Meals on Wheels for the Washington Senior Center for about a year before his diagnosis gave him great pleasure.

He loved classic rock music and all sports, but mostly Pittsburgh sports.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Cullen Blanck, sister Patricia Cardone, niece Tracie Cardone and mother-in-law Mary “Louise” Wigner Cullen Thompson.

He is predeceased by his parents, fathers in law, David T. Cullen and Ralph Thompson. His Step-son Paul E Hollenbach III, and his brother-in-law Philip Cardone, and his late wife Deb Tatterson Blanck.

Ed was grateful for the love and support of the congregation of Laboratory Presbyterian Church and Pastor Scott Shetter.

Family and friends are welcome on November 8, 2025 from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am at Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 23 Manse St., Washington, PA 15301.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Laboratory Presbyterian Church.
