Edward “Ed” Saymansky passed away June 26, 2024, due to complications from skin cancer. He was born in Washington to the late John and Anna Saymansky on July 8.1932. After graduating from Washington High School, Ed proudly served in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic.

Ed retired from Brockway Glass when the Washington factory closed. He enjoyed fishing around Washington County and especially liked to help with stocking fish and the group breakfasts. When younger, Ed enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting and spoiled his rabbit dogs. He socialized during the many morning miles he walked on the Wash Hi football field track. Ed enjoyed a good conversation, especially with those special to him, including Irene Ealy and her family and Tom and Jan Coffield and their family.

Ed is survived by his son John Saymansky and wife Karen and grandson Aaron Saymansky. Their weeks won’t be the same without his prompt Wednesday and Sunday evening phone calls. He is also survived by daughter Vianna Rampero and husband Mark, grandsons John (Kayla) Bandi and Michael Bandi, and great-grandson Noah. Also surviving are two nephews and a special niece Anna Cottrill.

Deceased are his sisters Frances Saymansky and Carolyn (Paul) Pollock; brothers Walter (Doris) Saymansky and infant John Saymansky.

Ed did not want a fuss. Those wishing to attend his graveside service and interment with military honors will meet at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 10:00 am. Attendees should arrive by 9:45 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Washington High School Athletics, 311 Allison Ave, Washington, PA 15301
