Edward J. Vietmeier, 87 of Robinson Township, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was born in Moon Run on March 8, 1935, and is the son of the late Edward and Louise Vietmeier. Beloved husband of Margaret, with whom he just celebrated 67 years of marriage. Loving father of Dale (Nancy), Scott (Debbie), Edward W. (Annette), Gordon (Jill), Glenn (Kelly), and the late Gretchen Vietmeier. Brother of Frank (Susan) Vietmeier, Ann (Donald) Hyatt and the late Louise (Leo) Kirkpatrick. Also, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Ed was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carnegie. He enjoyed gardening and was a handyman with all things. Friends are welcome on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 2-8 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136 (412) 787-1800, where a service will be held on Thursday, June 23^rd at 10 am. We have just found out about Ed's passing. Sadly, another era is drawing to a close. A kinder and friendlier man would be hard to find. May we extend to Margaret, the children and many grandchildren, our deepest condolences on this sudden loss. RIP, Ed, always enjoyed seeing and talking to you and Margaret at neighborhood functions. It is with deepest sympathy that I send condolences to my Aunt Margaret on the recent passing of my Uncle Ed. Although we moved to Florida 39 years ago, I made sure to visit them every time we returned to Pittsburgh. Last summer my sister Sherry Crowe and I enjoyed a lovely visit with them. We found Uncle Ed working in the barn, and Aunt Margaret was cooking in the kitchen. He told me that he met my grandfather as a customer at Sears before he ever met my dad, James Peck Jr. On one of our earlier visits, he took my mom Frances Peck, my Aunt Tres Steffler, my sister, and I on a tour of St. Mary's Cemetery where our relatives were buried. Uncle Ed was always welcoming and caring. He will be sadly missed.
