Elizabeth “Betty” J. (Wood) Stacy

Elizabeth “Betty” J. (Wood) Stacy, 77, of Robinson Township, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 15, 1949, to the late Donald and Mary Jane (Kiray) Wood. 

Betty was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Stacy, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a loving home, raised their family, and shared many wonderful years together. 

She is survived by her loving children, Chad Stacy, his wife, Jenn (Alberico) Stacy, and Danielle Stacy. She was a proud and devoted Nana to Isabella and Layla, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Betty is also survived by her brothers, Don (Roxanne) Wood, Bobby Wood, Jeff Wood, and many nieces and nephews. 

Betty began her career with Bell Telephone in Sewickley before dedicating herself to raising her family. She later worked alongside her husband to own and operate a tanning salon in Robinson Township. Her greatest fulfillment came from caring for her family and creating a home filled with warmth, love, and lasting memories. Above all, she treasured her role as a wife, mother, and Nana. 

For almost 50 years, Betty lived courageously with multiple sclerosis. Although the disease limited her physically, it never diminished her spirit. She faced each day with grace, quiet strength, and a positive attitude, inspiring those around her with her resilience. 

She found joy in making every season special, especially through holiday decorating and creating beautiful wreaths. She loved crafting, shopping, spending time with her family and friends, and had a deep affection for animals.  She especially enjoyed watching the birds outside her window and adored her many grand-dogs.  

 Betty also had a heart for serving others and was an avid volunteer. Often using Access transportation and her electric wheelchair, she donated her time at Ohio Valley Hospital and many local nursing homes, caring for the residents, even while living in a care facility herself.  

She was especially grateful for the enduring friendship of her best friend, Pam Clark, whose weekly visits/ outings brought endless laughter, companionship, and joy. She also cherished the love and steadfast support of her sister-in-law, Roxanne Wood. 

Betty will be remembered for her witty personality, dry sense of humor, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, perseverance, and compassion will live on in all who knew and loved her. 

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 10:00 am at Archangel Gabriel Parish (Holy Trinity Church), 5718 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136, followed by burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
