Elizabeth Coombs Corke Myers, Age 95, of Upper St. Clair PA, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2021, surrounded by family and love. She was preceded in death by her first husband John R. Corke, and second husband Charles J. Myers. She always said she was blessed to have had two happy marriages. She was the loving and beloved mother of Nancy (Patrick) Smythe, Debbie Ogle, and Randy (Mary) Corke, and the very proud “Gma” of 8 grandchildren and “G-G” of 10 great-grandchildren. Her 95th birthday was celebrated in August with 25 of 30 direct family members attending. Family was always the most important thing in her life.

In heaven, Elizabeth has joined her parents Roy and Isabel (Harman) Coombs, brother Roy Coombs (Frances), sister Ruth Coombs Henry (John), and grandson Parker Smythe. As an avid skier and an adventurous traveler, she enjoyed many skiing and camping trips with John, as well as trips across the world with Charles, and epic European trips with her sister Ruth and Ruth’s husband John. Her gardens reflected her authentic green-thumb and her love for nature.

Although she lived in Pittsburgh for 55 years, Elizabeth never relinquished her New England roots, and relished her frequent visits to the Northeast, especially to Rockport MA. She insisted that her family all learn how to ski, and her love for winter extends down through the generations. An online memorial service will be conducted in the new year and a family celebration of her life will be held next summer in Rockport, where her ashes will be interred next to John’s.

Elizabeth was a proud alum and supporter of Colby College, a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, PA, and a lifelong member of PEO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcomed to Colby College 173 Main St. Waterville ME 04901 (colby.edu/give) or to the charity of your choice benefitting the environment.
